Fibreglass rod & OFC strength member production lines, configured to your rod specification
JAE India produces FRP rod manufacturing lines configured for a range of rod types — central strength members for optical fibre cables, structural rebar for construction, duct rods for telecom conduit systems, and dielectric insulation rods for the power sector.
Each line is built around the customer's rod specification: diameter range, tensile strength target, resin system, production speed, and packaging format (spooled or cut-to-length).
Rod types we configure lines for
An FRP rod — also known as a fibreglass rod, GRP rod, or composite strength member — is a continuous pultruded profile made from glass fibre rovings saturated with thermoset resin (epoxy, polyester, or vinyl ester) and cured under heat and pressure.
FRP rods offer high tensile strength, low weight, non-conductivity, and corrosion resistance — properties that make them the preferred choice over steel in cable, construction, and electrical applications.
JAE India configures each FRP rod manufacturing line to the following key parameters.
| Parameter | Configurable Range |
|---|---|
| Rod Diameter | 0.5 mm to 25 mm+ (custom die for each diameter) |
| Resin System | Epoxy | Polyester | Vinyl Ester |
| Production Speed | As per customer output requirement — confirmed during line design phase |
| Line Length | Configured to available floor space and production volume |
| Packaging Format | Spooled on reels | Cut to straight lengths | Both (dual exit) |
| Automation Level | Manual | Semi-automated | Fully automated with PLC and servo control |
| Curing Method | Thermal | UV + Thermal (for advanced line configurations) |
| Property | FRP Rod Advantage Over Steel |
|---|---|
| Weight | 60–75% lighter than steel. Reduces cable weight for aerial installation and reduces shipping cost. |
| Corrosion Resistance | No corrosion in marine, chemical, and outdoor environments — eliminates rust-related cable failure. |
| Dielectric | Non-conductive. Eliminates galvanic interference in HV cable structures. |
| Tensile Strength | Comparable to steel wire with significantly lower density. |
| Flexibility | Higher bend radius flexibility for FTTH and microduct cable designs. |
With every line supply, JAE India provides a full technical documentation set for installation, commissioning, and operation.
